Wild Namibia Photo Tour
We’ve been leading photo tours to Namibia since 2011. We’ve built up partnerships, secret locations and special permissions second to none! For years we had photographers asking us ‘how we got those special permissions’ because we were part of the original team that the rest followed…
This Dreamscapes Photo Tour focuses on the central landscapes that make Namibia so special, included a private lodge that offers some of the best landscapes in the country, that few photographers know about. Tour days are flexible and can be extended to include Fish River Canyon (south) and Damaraland (north).
This photo tour focuses on the phenomenal landscapes that make Namibia a photographer’s paradise. Please note this tour can be adapted and days extended to preferences.

Date: Feb-Nov. It is recommended to book as early as possible to secure bookings.
Best Time: Feb/March/April for colourful landscapes, May for great weather, June- August for night sky. Oct-Nov (fewer people but very hot)
Duration: 10 days (can be tailored to preference)
Start/Finish: Windhoek Namibia
Photographic Level: Any level from smartphone beginner to Pro
Fitness Level: Easy to moderate (can be tailored to preference)
Group Size: Min 2 (non-photographer travel partners are welcome).

ITINERARY
- DAY 01: 9am collection from hotel or airport | 5 hour drive to Quiver Tree Forest for sunset & night sky shoot
- DAY 02: Full Day Sunrise/Sunset & night sky Quiver Tree Forest & Quirky Giants Playground
- DAY 03: Sunrise quiver tree forest | 4 hour drive to Luderitz with stop on route for Wild Horses of Aus | Sunset seascape or Luderitz architecture shoot
- DAY 04: Special photographer permits for sunrise shoot Kolmanskop Ghost Town midday rest return for afternoon and sunset shoot at Ghost Town
- DAY 05: 4 hour scenic drive to a Private Lodge with some of most beautiful dune and tree landscapes in the entire country. A location currently unknown to any other photo tours (image here) | Afternoon sunset and night sky shoot with exceptional trees.
- DAY 06: Full Day at Lodge with sunrise and sunset shoots of the beautiful dune and tree landscapes
- DAY 07: 2 hour scenic drive to Sossusvlei, the gem of Namibia for afternoon and sunset red dune shoot
- DAY 08: Sunrise at the incomparable deadvlei, midday rest, afternoon and special night sky shoot deadvlei
- DAY 09: Optional helicopter or red dune sunrise shoot | 6 hour scenic drive back to Windhoek | Farewell Dinner
- DAY 10: Optional hot air balloon flight ($600) or red dune sunrise shoot. Followed by breakfast and 5 hour scenic drive back Windhoek with final dinner at a legendary Windhoek restaurant.

WHEN TO VISIT
End Summer (Feb/March):
Highly recommended as it’s rain season which falls in the form of localized, afternoon thunderstorms. And it’s these storms that can potentially produce incredible skies second and make the rainy season the best time to visit for dramatic colourful imagery. Days can be hot, rains cool it down. this is a desert so rain is infrequent.
Autumn (April/May):
Highly recommended, it’s a beautiful time of year, weather cools down (a little), may still be good color in the landscapes if it has been a good rain year.
Winter (June-August):
Highly recommended for night sky photography (cool, clear, crisp skies) and stock photography as every day is a blue sky day.
Spring (Aug-Oct): Recommended but it can be very windy from August but we have photographed dramatic sunsets in Sept by October it gets extremely hot!
Full Summer (Nov-Jan): Not recommended for landscapes as the light is harsh almost soon after sunrise and it’s extremely hot! But you do have the advantage of fewer people around.

We are able to offer competitive prices as we don’t require a ground handler. Many international led photo tours are substantially more expensive as they require a local company to facilitate their tour. We’re fortunate with 10 years of Namibia Photo Tour experience we can do this independently and offer you a better deal.
Accommodation rates change according to season. High season is June to Nov and major holidays like Xmas and Easter. Rates are approximate.
