WHEN TO VISIT
WHEN TO VISIT
Best Time to Visit Cape Town:
A detailed guide to the best time to visit Cape Town can be found on our dedicated page.
Summer (Mid-November – March)
Hot days with clear blue skies and up to 14 hours of daylight. The South-Easter wind is common during this period. This is the busiest time of year, particularly over the festive season, offering long evenings ideal for sunset photography.
Autumn (April – May – Early June)
One of the most beautiful times to visit. Expect calmer weather, fewer crowds, and richly coloured sunsets. From mid-May to early June, autumn tones appear across the landscape, often accompanied by atmospheric ocean mist.
Winter (June – August)
June marks the start of winter rains, with cooler and occasionally wet conditions. The landscape becomes lush and green, waterfalls flow on Table Mountain, and whale sightings increase along the coast. Between cold fronts, the weather can be clear and dramatic—excellent for moody photography.
Spring (August – Mid-November)
A wonderful season with fewer rains than winter. Landscapes are vibrant, wildflowers bloom, and birdlife is abundant. It’s an excellent time for photography and safari combinations, though occasional cold or wet days are still possible.
